Our Story
Pet Business Advisors was founded by Jeremy Cohen, a seasoned attorney and the driving force behind Boston Dog Lawyers. With a passion for animal advocacy and a deep understanding of the legal intricacies surrounding pet-related businesses, Jeremy recognized a growing need for specialized consulting services in the pet industry. Combining his legal expertise and love for animals, he established Pet Business Advisors to provide tailored guidance and support to pet business owners.

About Jeremy Cohen
A lawyer for 25 years, Jeremy Moss Cohen has been handling cases for dog, cat and horse owners since 2008. He founded Boston Dog Lawyers in 2016 with a mission to grow a law practice specializing in representing pet owners and counseling pet businesses. His first case in 2008 was to save Jesse the German Shepherd for his step-kids, and he did. Jeremy treats your pet like he or she is his own and that passion and energy fuels the courtroom battles. Surrendering is not an option.

Prior to working in animal law, Attorney Cohen worked in the insurance industry. He received great training during his climb to manager of global property claims for General Electric and brings those presentation and customer oriented skills to his current practice. He opened his own firm in 2007 and has narrowed his focus to the long neglected area of pet law.

Now, his practice solely focuses on pet related matters. His work has been the subject of numerous magazine, newspaper, radio and television stories and he always has his Golden retriever Maisey by his side or more likely, she’s front and center. Maisey loves the camera!
Jeremy looks forward to using this experience to help other Pet Business owners, and people who have dreams of becoming one, realize their goals.
About Rob Stewart
Robert D. Stewart, Esq., is an Associate Attorney with Boston Dog Lawyers. Robert has been affiliated with BDL for over six years in diverse roles representing BDL clients in matters related to legal rights of individual pets owners, pet services businesses, veterinary practices and governmental entities. His role at BDL emphasizes his ability to develop an adaptive approach to applying the existing legal framework to the constantly expanding field of pet owner’s rights. RDS’s approach recognizes that the special relationship between pets and their owners is essential to providing effective representation to BDL clients and advancing their legal interests, and he looks forward to utilizing this same approach for Pet Business Advisor clients.
Prior to joining BDL, RDS was a partner at the distinguished Boston law firm Parker|Scheer, LLP, where he was Practice Director of the Real Estate Conveyancing Group and had further active practice in civil litigation. RDS played a key role in establishing and developing the real estate practice group into an integral part of the firm’s model of varied, independent practice groups supporting the overall success of the enterprise.
Additionally, RDS has held key roles as Project Manager in a local biotechnology device equipment management company (Atlantic Lab Equipment) and as a Technology Supervisor for a nationwide retail chain (Staples). RDS is an active member of his community, holding trusted positions for a local non-profit (Family Promise North Shore Boston) and is active in the service and advocacy mission of Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers.
RDS lives in Beverly, Massachusetts with his wife and their two English Cream Retrievers. RDS has two grown daughters who live in the Greater Boston area.
